There is a new version of Tinkercad. Try it out here.

Design is fun!

Have your first 3D project ready for printing in minutes. Tinkercad is a new and faster way of creating designs for your 3D printer. With the help of the latest web technology you can now use a solid modeling CAD directly in your browser.

The user interface is designed to get things done fast and to be quick to learn. With only three basic tools you can create a wide range of useful things. Once your project is ready simply download the STL file and start your 3D print. Sign up for a free account now!

Add

Add material to create outlines, shells and connectors. Draw lines to add more material rapidly.

Sub

Remove material from your project to create holes, recessions or grooves. Change tool shape to create different marks.

Workplane

Align the workplane with existing surfaces. Push and pull the workplane to adjust depth and location of operations.

Sharing is caring

Once you have made something cool in Tinkercad you should share it with your friends. Sharing a Tinkercad project is simple just copy the address you see in your browser. This address is called a permalink, that means it will always point to the specific object you see on the screen.

When your friend opens the link in their browser they will see your project in the Tinkercad viewer. The viewer is a simple interface that lets your friend view and inspect your project. If they like you project and want to tweak it they can easily take a copy and start editing it right in Tinkercad.

Printing

The Ultimaker personal 3D printer.

Tinkercad lets you export your projects in the industry standard STL file format. This format was developed specifically for 3D printers and is accepted universally by different printer software and printing services.

In most browsers you can just download the STL file, select to open it and your printing software should open right up.
